Therapy services

Evidence-based treatment,
centered on you.

Individual and family support for children, teens, and adults navigating OCD and anxiety.

Who I work with

Support for all ages and the people who care for them.

OCD can affect the whole family. Care is tailored to each person’s age, needs, goals, and support system.

01

Children & teens

Age-appropriate treatment helps young people understand OCD and anxiety, build confidence, and practice new responses with support from the adults in their lives.

02

Adults

Individual therapy offers a collaborative space to work with intrusive thoughts, uncertainty, compulsions, avoidance, and anxiety at your own pace.

03

Families & loved ones

Family support sessions help parents, partners, and relatives better understand OCD, reduce accommodation, communicate effectively, and support recovery without reinforcing the cycle.

Flexible support: Sessions may be individual, family-based, or a thoughtful combination of both, depending on what best supports treatment.

The first step

Initial consultation

Every person has a different story and different needs. In a free 15-minute consultation, we can discuss what you are looking for, whether telehealth care is appropriate, and what next steps may look like.

OCD treatment

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

ERP is a widely used, evidence-based treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder. It helps people gradually approach feared thoughts, situations, or objects while practicing a different response to compulsions and rituals.

Rather than trying to eliminate every uncomfortable thought or feeling, ERP helps you build the ability to tolerate uncertainty and distress without getting pulled into the OCD cycle. Over time, this can create more freedom, improved functioning, and a greater sense of control.

OCD treatment

Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT)

Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment for OCD that focuses on how obsessive doubt begins. I-CBT helps you notice when OCD pulls you away from what you actually know and into imagined “what if” possibilities.

Together, we learn to recognize these OCD reasoning patterns and practice trusting what is actually happening instead of getting pulled into the doubt. The goal is to spend less time questioning, checking, and trying to find certainty, and more time trusting yourself and your experiences.

Values-based treatment

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you build a different relationship with difficult thoughts, emotions, and uncertainty. Instead of spending your energy trying to eliminate anxiety or control every uncomfortable thought, ACT focuses on making room for those experiences while choosing actions that move you toward the life you want to live.

Through mindfulness, acceptance, and values-based work, ACT can help you become less tangled in what your mind is telling you and more connected to what matters to you. The goal is not to feel comfortable all the time. It is to build the flexibility to keep living meaningfully even when discomfort shows up.

Anxiety treatment

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. We identify patterns that keep anxiety going, test assumptions with care, and build practical strategies that support the life you want to live.

For OCD, CBT often includes ERP. For other anxiety concerns, it may include learning to face avoidance, respond to worry in new ways, and strengthen your capacity to handle difficult internal experiences.

Appointments are typically 45–60 minutes and may be offered up to twice weekly when clinically appropriate. Cooper Counseling currently offers telehealth appointments only.
